New Physics and Astrophysics Degree from the University of Bath
From October 2015 students interested in studying Physics at the University will have an even greater choice of undergraduate programmes. The Department is currently recruiting a new research group in Astrophysics and this will provide the expertise required to deliver a series of new programmes – Physics with Astrophysics*.
These experts, together with existing academic staff, will be teaching subject material in the area of astrophysics to also enhance and expand the scope of the existing programmes. The introduction of Astrophysics into the University is all the more exciting because of the well-established links that the Department of Physics has with the historical legacy of William Herschel, who discovered the planet Uranus while living in Bath in 1781. Current and former members of the University are involved with the Herschel House Museum in Bath and the William Herschel Society.
