New BSc Statistical Social Research Degree
In response to the shortage of quantitatively skilled social science graduates the Q-Step Centre at the University of Kent, is an initiative which supports a range of activities designed to increase the quantitative kills, literacy and confidence of everyone from school children through to graduates in the workplace.
As part of this initiative they have created a new undergraduate degree programme, the BSc Social Statistical Research. Students on this programme develop sophisticated statistical analysis skills, which allow them to critically assess data and apply their findings to the real-world study of politics, crime, society or business. The degree encourages new ways of thinking and provides rigorous training to develop quantitative skills. The degree programme also offers a series of diverse work placements to maximise future employability and the option to continue at Master’s Level.
