The Yale Young Global Scholars Program (YYGS)
has launched its application for Summer 2016, and will offer six different sessions for talented high school students.
YYGS is an academic enrichment and leadership development program that brings together outstanding high school students from around the world for intensive two-week sessions on the Yale campus. In 2015, YYGS hosted 600 students, who represented 92 different countries and 50 U.S. states and territories. Students in YYGS attended lectures from distinguished Yale faculty, participated in small seminars led by Yale graduate and undergraduate students, and conducted group research projects which they presented at the end of their session.
Sessions and Dates for Summer 2016
As in previous years, the program will offer two-week-long intensive, interdisciplinary summer experiences for talented high school students. Dates and a description for each of the six sessions is listed below.
Politics, Law, & Economics (PLE) June 19 – July 2, 2016
For students with interests in understanding American legal principles, economic ideas, and values and practices of government in historical and comparative perspectives.
Applied Science & Engineering (ASE) June 19 – July 2, 2016
For students who want to explore the application of physical & computer sciences and engineering.
International Affairs & Security (IAS) July 8 – July 21, 2016
For students with interests in international relations and security and learning historical lessons about leadership.
For students who want to delve deeper in the study and application of life sciences.
Technology, Innovation, & Entrepreneurship (TIE) July 26 – August 8, 2016
For students who are interested in how innovations in science or technology become a reality.
Sustainability, Energy, & Environment (SEE) July 26 – August 8, 2016
For students who are interested in the study and application of natural and environmental sciences.
The comprehensive application for all six sessions is available now and accessible through the program website. The application deadline is February 11, 2016 at 11:59 pm EST.
