Economics Masterclass at Aston University
Wednesday 13 January 1.15 pm – 3.15 pm
This masterclass aims to motivate further study of economics by demonstrating the diverse range of topics covered and highlighting the real-world relevance of the subject. An introduction to the diverse range of topics will emphasise that economics is not just about the macro economy as is commonly perceived, but also about the study of individual consumers, firms and industries in micro economics. Micro economics theory will be used to demonstrate the benefits of having intense competition between the firms in a market and real-world examples will be used to show how government authorities try to ensure that competition is not restricted.
Aston’s Masterclass Programme provides stimulating workshops from Aston University academics at the forefront of their subject area. These free sessions offer a great opportunity for Year 12 and 13 students to enrich their current studies and to discover more about studying a particular subject for Higher Education.
