2017 Summer School
9-23 July 2017
This summer, Sciences Po will open its doors to secondary school students from around the world as part of the Summer School’s Pre-College Programme. This programme is an opportunity to discover Sciences Po and experience college life and academics at one of France’s leading universities.
The Pre-College Programme takes place from 9-23 July 2017. Learn more about the schedule for the two weeks.
The Pre-College Programme offers challenging coursework combining the study of social sciences and foreign language, designed to give students a taste of academics at Sciences Po. Participants will explore current issues in international relations, political science, and more. The academic programme includes both interactive classes with a lead professor, who will introduce students to the key disciplines and methodologies of a Sciences Po education, and thematic master classes on contemporary issues. The language of instruction for these classes is English.
Other classes include foreign language study in French (or, for French speakers, advanced academic writing in English) and methodology workshops designed to prepare students for university studies in France and elsewhere.
Living in Reims
The Pre-College Programme takes place on our Reims campus, a beautifully restored former Jesuit college from the 17th century. Together with their counselors, students will be housed in a residence hall located only five minutes from campus in the walkable city centre. A medium-sized city with a rich history, Reims is an ideal location for students seeking an immersive experience in French life and culture. Today, the city is at the heart of the world-famous Champagne region and can be reached in only 40 minutes by train from Paris. Outside of class, students will participate in a variety of cultural activities and visits to discover the city and the surrounding region.

Weekends in Paris
On the weekends, participants will travel as a group to Paris, where they will have the opportunity to explore the city through organised visits of its cultural sites and monuments. Students will also attend class for a day on the Paris campus and get to know its facilities and resources.
The Summer School is open to students from across the world. The eligibility criteria and application procedure are detailed on the Summer School website. Candidates must apply through the Sciences Po online application system.
